Lube oil: our lubricant analysis service is based on the provision of sample testing kits and sampling instructions and a courier service to enable fast dispatch to a designated laboratory. These tests provide detailed information regarding levels of contamination and highlight any recommended actions according to the degree of exposure to machinery damage. Test results are available on line via a web-based interface with critical warnings communicated direct to the vessel’s superintendent by phone or e-mail.
Fuel oil: purifier evaluation service compares fuel quality before and after cleaning by the purifier. The primary objective is to determine whether fuel meets the specification and is mixed with any other substances. The process is based on the provision of service kits which allow two samples to be taken, sent to a designated lab for analysis and the provision of a detailed feedback report. Test results flag up any off-spec parameters, are grouped to provide information such as physical properties, ignition quality, metals and contaminants and are accompanied by recommendations to improve onboard treatment.
Bilge water: SeaTec provides regular independent checks on the on the performance of the Oil Content Meter (OCM) used on oily water separators (OWS). Typically conducted at 6 monthly intervals, the results determine level of oil contamination in parts per million (PPM) at the separator’s outlet and include recommendations regarding the calibration and general functioning of the OWS equipment.
