Condition Monitoring

SeaTec Condition Monitoring (see www.seatec-services.com) offer a range of services for all vessel types. These are marketed under the Protecting Assets with Condition monitoring Technology (PACT) brand. The PACT services are designed to reduce the direct and indirect costs of equipment failures.

PACT Design is ideally carried out during a vessel’s construction period. On-line systems encompass including vibration analysis, oil cleanliness, engine performance monitoring and thermal imaging. Functionality can include the integration of systems with maintenance software and the generation of auto alerts.

PACT Live involves an initial assessment of ship systems to enable efficient data capture and analysis by the ship engineers as the basis for determining recommendations for preventative actions. PACT Live can be used to achieve condition-based survey notations with Class.

PACT Focus is a one-off health check ideally conducted prior to a vessel entering dry dock or in support of warrantee claims. This assessment involves the collection and analysis of vibration data, thickness measurements, pressure and vacuum leak detection and particle counts. Typically, a PACT engineer will sail with the vessel over a period of 5-6 days.

PACT Ace provides the capture and analysis of acoustic emissions as a early signal of a machinery fault. This service can be customised and can be deployed to detect acoustic emissions from engine bearings, pod propulsion units and other slow speed machinery.
