SeaTec Communications, formerly known as SeaCom Electronics, is rapidly developing its servicing capabilities by combining resources from their own offices in Singapore, Rotterdam, Shanghai, Southampton, Chennai and Monaco with the large global network of partners that covers the world busiest ports.
Its recent Global Service Agreements with Imtech (Radio Holland), Aage Hempel, Mackay, Pro Nautas, One Tech and Zener enable SeaTec Communications to access a vast network of qualified engineers and cost-effectively cover services from a simple ad-hoc daily visit to the full bridge maintenance contract. As of January 2015 SeaTec Communications is LR and RINA approved to offer Radio GMDSS surveys (including AIS, SART and EPIRB) using his own technical resources in Singapore and, soon, in northern Europe. BV and DNV accreditations are also on the way.
The recent distribution agreements with Alphatron/JRC, Sperry, Cobham, Transas (ECDIS) and Danelec (VDR) allow SeaTec Communication to offer main equipment at extremely attractive pricing for the ultimate benefit of the ship owners. ECDIS are becoming mandatory as per MSC.333 (90) and the Transas NS 4000 is the default solution selected by V.Ships for its fleet.
SeaTec Communications is also responding to the growing industry appetite for ship to shore connection with more staff dedicated and stronger partnerships with KVH for its Ku-Band VSAT solution and with Inmarsat for it’s soon to be launched Global Xpress Ka-band. Airtime management, pre-paid cards, point of Service Activation, Iridium, MF/HF, and VHF are complementing the airtime portfolio. Better ship-to-shore connectivity for both operational and social use is a must going forward and has to be taken into account by forward looking Managers and Owners.
